Code Replace Files
« on: April 02, 2010, 09:12:33 AM »
Code replacement is an awesome feature of PM.

Thoughts:
1.Is there anyway we could have a code replacement file refresh button so we dont have to unload and reload the document if we add a name.

2.If there is a duplicate abbreviation could we have pm give us options as to which one to use or at least warn us that there is more than one or if thats going to slow things down could we have a code replacement check feature that would search all code replacements and list any duplicates.

There already is a button in the Set Code Replacements dialog that does that.

Right now, the last duplicate 'wins' so if you add your files in the order you want to take precedence (put the most important files last) then you'll be assured that your most recent duplicate will be used.

Cool any way we could give it a keyboard shortcut (pull it out of the dialog and make it another part of the settings menu)?
We're always messing with them in the heat of an event and time really matters?

Understood but we have several text replace docs loaded at a time and sometimes we inadvertently load the same initials as a shortcut and don't find out until its a problem...and we're on deadline etc.

Marc,
Not finding out until it's a problem and you are on deadline was cleverly built into the program by the Camera Bits staff, and is the default mode.
As a matter of fact, it is such a successful feature that sometimes it even spills over into other programs on the computer, even those not written by Camera Bits.
