Syncing ratings back to Server from Laptop
« on: August 17, 2010, 01:19:57 PM »
I needed to rate images with a client today offsite - I copied the JPGs (not NEF's)  to the laptop and worked on the laptop at my clients. Now I need to copy the ratings back to my server which has the NEF & JPG's. If I copy back the JPG's to the server will the NEF's sync with them? how should I handle this?

Thanks
Joe

Once the new JPEGs are on your server, open up a contact sheet containing them.  Select the photos and use the "Update IPTC/XMP" command on the Tools menu.  Choose to read the IPTC/XMP data from the JPEG.

I think that this will do what you're after.
