Delete photos keyboard shortcut doesn't work in Preview

PM 4.6.5 Snow Leopard 10.6.4
The Command-Delete keyboard shortcut works in Contact Sheet view, but not in the Preview window.  I can choose it from the File menu, but this is obviously much slower.  Shouldn't this shortcut work in Preview?

Just use Delete.  The keyboard shortcuts for the most part in the Preview window don't require qualifier keys like Shift, Control, or Command.
