Cannot use Photoshop CC as default editor
« on: June 28, 2013, 04:49:11 PM »
Hello,

I am running Photoshop CC and have chosen it as the default editor in PM. When I press the CMD+E it stills opens CS6 all the time.

Any workaround on this?

Hilmar,

I am running Photoshop CC and have chosen it as the default editor in PM. When I press the CMD+E it stills opens CS6 all the time.

What does the installed directory look like?  Is the icon for the new Photoshop an alias or is it the actual application icon?

Feel free to post a screenshot of the Finder showing the Applications folder and the Photoshop folder.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your JPEG format screenshot.

Thanks,

-Kirk

Here are screens.

If you choose the Adobe Photoshop CC.app as one of your custom editors, can you open your images with the 'Open with...' contextual menu command if you choose "Adobe Photoshop CC" ?

If I choose it as the specific editor for JPG it actually does open the files in CC when pressing CMD+E.

Hilmar,

If I choose it as the specific editor for JPG it actually does open the files in CC when pressing CMD+E.

Have you used Get Info (in the Finder) on your various image types and set your new Photoshop version as the application to open the files?  It may be that the Finder still associates your older Photoshop version as the 'editor' application for your image files.
