Ingest Indicator, Copy/Move shortcut, Customizable shortcuts
« on: November 27, 2010, 08:53:17 AM »
Hello Kirk,

It would be great to see the following improvements in the future :

1- An ingest indicator within the top toolbar (not in the form of another window)
this could be an option selectable in the preferences.

I'm seeing a simple wider version of the yellow to green progress indicator that show up in the upper right corner of the thumbnail when "ftp-ing" a picture. This progress bar would indicate just the current ingest status. The ingest window could in that case provide with more info (as it is doing now) for user that requires it.

Laptops and computer screens are now mostly in a wide ratio, leaving plenty of real estate space in the toolbar to include such an icon.

2-Is there a way to differentiate the Copy/Move shortcut. With the actual shortcut, one has to always choose another option (copy, move, move and open, copy and open) even if  the snapshot option is a plus, there's still in my view a step in the way of making a quick copy or move action

3- This bings me to the 3rd request : customizable shortcuts

Please let us know if any of theses requests are feasible in the near future.

Best regads,

I don't understand what you're saying.  Are you saying that the snapshots don't save all of your settings?

I really can't tell when any of the above will be implemented.  The team has to agree on what will be implemented and when.  Thank you for your feedback anyway, though!

Kirk,

the snapshots are working, I just think that it's one to many step.

You mean that opening the dialog, selecting a snapshot, and then pressing the Copy/Move button is too many steps?  That's just two steps.  How would we make it fewer steps and still maintain the flexibility of the Copy/Move dialog?
