copy into folder question
« on: September 30, 2006, 02:02:43 PM »
Hello,
I am on 4.4.3.3 running on a Apple laptop 10.4.8
I select files from a contact sheet and try to a favorite folder.
A big folder with many files (8000) It now tells me that there are fiels witht he same name and ask me to choose different things.
I have selected the pref on files renaming options "append a letter A, B ...."
When i do a right click "copy selected" it works fine but not on a drag and drop !
Is this a correct behaviour ?

thanks for your help

Denis

Drag and drop copies work just like the Finder.  Using the Copy Options dialog uses collision resolution to deal with files that already exist at the destination.

This is correct behavior.

This is correct behavior.

Is there anyway we could force it or add this feature to the drag and drop through the favorites ?
I really like it and filenames are irrelevant to my archives workflow !

I'm not quite sure I understand what you want.  You want it to automatically rename files when doing drag and drop when collisions occur?

No not automatically rename but have this as an option in the "alert" window that appear in the finder option.
But i can also use the "save selected" right click option but it is less "natural" in my workflow"
