Missing Data
« on: August 31, 2011, 03:42:07 PM »
Why can data be seen on a jpg image on one computer using photo mechanic but not on another using photo mechanic.  I am using a Mac version 4.6.7 not sure which version the other is using, I think a PC.  Attached is a file that I can see the caption in my PM but my friend can not.

Any ideas?

Because the majority of the caption data is in XMP only.  The file contains XMP and IPTC but the IPTC data has few fields.  If your friend has PM setup to read IPTC before XMP then he won't see the additional data.  You likely have PM set to read XMP before IPTC when reading JPEGs, TIFFs, and PSD files.
