Photo Mechanic has become very slow

I have PM 4.6.8 running in MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8.
As of lately PM is running slow. Opening folders takes for ever and sending pics into Trash likewise.
I had uninstalled and reinstalled it to no avail.
Any solution?

Is your system low on memory when PM is slow?  What is the size of the Memory Cache in Photo Mechanic (open the Preferences dialog and then go to the 'Caching' section) and reply back with your Caching settings.

memory cache size 1024

Set your Memory Cache to 512.  More isn't always better.
