I am on PM V5 and I  choice a picture on a contact sheet, I preview it and I treat it with  NX2 or CS5.
When finish, I return to PM to choice another, sorry, I have yet the old preview, not the initial contact sheet.

V4 was better  (only for that !)

I'm sorry but I don't understand you.  Perhaps post a before and after screen shot?  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your JPEG format screenshots.

I think he opens up the editor from within PM, edits the picture in one of the mentioned image applications, saves and overwrites the file and when returning back to PM the old preview (before editing) is still displayed.

Are you saving your modified image over itself?  Or are you perhaps saving it to a different location than where the original image came from?

When returning back to PM after treating my photo from preview, it's still on preview mode, so I'm obliged to quit manually this mode to return to the contact sheet. In the former version, the contact sheet was automatically displayed, which was more convenient.

I understand you now.  I have added an option to the Preview section of the Photo Mechanic Preferences dialog to allow the user to choose whether he/she wants to close the Preview window when an item is edited externally.  It is on by default.

This feature will appear in the next build.
