Filename list in browser
« on: December 04, 2012, 10:38:38 AM »
I copied 1TB of photo folders from an existing external drive to a new external drive. Always in the past I could click on the small black triangle beside the Folder name and Photo Mechanic would list every filename just like in Mac Finder--and it would not load thumbnails.

When I click on the triangle on the same folders on the new drive no filenames are listed at all--however, when I double click on the folder name itself all the thumbnails open.

I prefer to see the list of filenames and not wait for several hundred raw files to load.......there must be a setting somewhere for these two different ways to show the file contents of a folder?
thx,
Ed

I'm sorry, but you are mistaken.  Photo Mechanic's Navigator and Favorites have never listed file names.  Only folders have ever been listed.

:o Yes, I realized that about 5 minutes after I posted my msg! As Gilda Radnor would say, "Never mind!"

I think I spent so much time in Finder recently....is why I got "confused." When I had to access SO MANY folders to see what was inside them--to confirm they did have the files they were supposed to after copying folders to the new drive...it really is nice in Finder to be able to quickly see that there are files without having to wait for 500 thumbs from a ballgame to load....But no problem and have a great day.

Tip: you can close the contact sheet tab before it finishes loading all of the thumbnails.  You don't have to wait for them to load all thumbnails.
