D4 NEF files cannot be tagged

I am unable to tag D4 NEF images in camera whereas with the D3 images could be tagged. Is this peculiar to the D4 or is there a work around?

Have you tried the Photo Mechanic 4.6.9 beta?

I believe there is a fix in it for the issue you're experiencing.  You can get the beta from the Announcements section of the forums.

Thanks Kirk. The main thing is that you know of the problem.

I'll manage temporarily without the feature until the release of the full 4.6.9 and will then update it.

Kirk, someone posted about this issue on SportsShooter and apparently the beta of 4.6.9 didn't fix the problem. I suggested he post here as well.

I sent sample files to Bob Russell. The same cards worked fine in my D3 and D3s so it seems like a D4 problem when using OS 10.7.4 even with the Beta 9

As info, I only shoot JPG
Test was also done on the hybrid card that came with the D4, same results. Shows tagged on the screen in back of the camera but does not ingest as tagged

I just switched back to Nikon last month and having the same problem with locked D3s nef files, no problems with locked jpegs. Using PM 4.6.9 and problem happens using 4.6.8 also.

Ok, I updated the firmware in the D4, now it seems like images shot with the XQD card either in NEF nor JPG can be viewed in PM
My Nikon case # 120614-001122 in case anyone wants to brain storm with Nikon on this issue, I'm now officially fed up with the entire situation

I have samples shot with the updated firmware in case anyone whats to play with them

  Hi Warren,

  Can you use the Finder to Get Info on the Locked files while they are still on the XQD card?  Is the Locked box checked in the General section?  I received your sample files and none of them were locked.  Thank you for your assistance with this issue.
