Loss of ability to set color class/ratings after last upgrade.

After upgrading to the latest build, I get intermittent failure in the ability to set color class and rating while culling images. Neither hitting the keyboard shortcut or using the drop-down menu has any effect. On some images it works, and others it doesn't.

What kind of images are you working with?
What kind of drive are they stored on?  (local HD, camera card, network drive)
Are any other applications in use with the files you're working on?

Are you embedding XMP, or are you using XMP sidecar files?
