PM 5 opens whenever my NAS connects
« on: December 19, 2012, 03:08:48 PM »
Photo Mechanic Version 5.0, build 13507 (c69a93e)
OS X 10.8.2

When my MacBook Pro wakes from sleep and re-connects with my Drobo FS (Ethernet connected), PM opens.  I have "Do Nothing" selected on mount of a camera disk.  Is there anything I can do to stop this behavior?

Sure, open up Apple's Image Capture application and tell it not to launch Photo Mechanic when a disk is mounted.  Of course this will also keep PM from launching when a legitimate camera card is inserted.

Another option would be to find out why Image Capture thinks your Drobo is a camera disk.  You don't have a folder named "DCIM" on the root of your Drobo, do you?  If so, either remove that folder or rename it to something else.

HTH,

Thanks, Kirk.  No "DCIM" folder at all, but plenty of pictures on the NAS in various folders.  I didn't know about the Image Capture app. Lots to learn about OS X!
