Rename/ingest adds unwanted "01"
« on: December 03, 2012, 07:02:36 AM »
Win 7 Home Premium, Dell Desktop, PM5 Build 13444 (c5a5ad3)

I used to be able to do this just fine -- but I got a camera (Pan FZ200) and am shooting RAW+JPG for the first time -- and I fiddled with Read XMP before IPTC.    Other than that... I can't think of what I did different.

Renaming or ingesting files using variables:

{idat}_{ih24}{imin}{isec}_pop.jpg renamed to
{idat}_{ih24}{imin}{isec}_cat.jpg becomes
{idat}_{ih24}{imin}{isec}_cat01.jpg

This happens with files named by PM5 and renaming files originally named with PM4.6
This happens with renaming just JPG files (no RAW).

Thanks for any pointers,
jan

Hi Jan!

Are there already jpg-files present with the same name?
Please check the Files-section of the preferences.
There is a drop down field to choose from.

Sven
After 5 years of absence I restarted the photography.

BINGO!

That was it -- and that *was* another thing I fiddled with.  I had selected "always append" instead of "append when needed"

Thanks much, this would have bugged me all day....
