Really Slow ingest with Lexar 800X Cards
« on: December 05, 2012, 01:02:21 PM »
Using PM V5, Build 13444 on a Windows 7 64 bit machine with 8GB of Memory.  When ingesting Lexar 800x cards, the ingest on my Lexar Firewire reader has gotten very slow.  Even after a reboot, it is still really slow.  Are there any compatibility issues with this media and PM?

Try copying the files directly to your computer with Windows Explorer from the desktop.  Does it still copy slowly?  I'd suspect a driver issue.  PM contains no special code to talk directly to Firewire readers or cards, so if the performance is poor, then I'd suspect a driver/OS compatibility issue.

Make sure you do your copy test after you have removed and reinserted the cable for the reader into your computer.

Downloaded new UBCore Firewire drivers and now all is right in the world again.  Never a problem with my Mac.....Just sayin.  Thanks Kirk!!
