Code Replacements
« on: May 02, 2013, 09:10:42 AM »
Hi I am new to PM and have got a list of Code Repllcements via .txt files but when I add to the list or create a new .txt sheet with new names PM does not pick up the code. I use a Mac and TextEdit I also do save the new doc to PM via Edit, Settings, Code Replacements etc.
Can some one give me a dummies method from start to finish to create a new .txt file that will be compatible.
Thank you so much as got a game on saturday.

If you attach the file here I can take a look at why it is not working.

In brief, you need to make sure there are TABs between the replacement columns and not SPACEs.

cr1   Longer text here
cr2   Second string of text

There is a TAB between "cr1" and "Longer text here"

Also, please make sure the file is truly a plain text file and not a "Rich Text File".  We recommend using a plain text editor instead of TextEdit since Rich Text is the default file format.  TextWrangler is an excellent choice and it is free:

If you would like for me to look at your file and make sure it is formatted correctly, please post it here.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your file.

Thanks,
