I am a Dutch stockphotographer, and momentary I am exploring the trial version of Photo Mechanic. I want to investigate of this software will fullfill my needs as a keywording tool for my stockphoto's.
The product looks very good, but still I have some questions:
For a stockphotographer the keywords are very important. However, the keyword import field is very small. Can this be enlarged?
Yes, you can make it taller by customizing the IPTC dialogs in the Accessibility section of the Preferences dialog.
The order of keywords is for some stock agencies very important. However, I still have not found a way to reorder the keywords. For example, I need a feature of dragging/pushing an important keyword to the top of the list. Or a feature with the same functionality.
Keywords are simply written out in the order they're entered. (They're simply an unordered list in the IPTC specification.) You can cut/paste them in the order you like.
Can the keywords be shown in a list, instead of in succession?
If you click on the popup menu to the right of the Keywords field, you can edit the keywords in a list. But it does not allow you to drag and drop reorder the list.
