I am using Nikon D100, Mac OS 10.4.8. and ADR. I have just changed to "Render Raw for Preview..." so maybe it has been a problem all the time. To make it even more confusing: it is not on every nef/jpg combination!

I downloaded the samples.  What path has the NEF file gone through?  It shows a resolution of 2008x3020, while the matching JPEG shows a resolution of 2723x4096 which is greatly different from the JPEG size.

I never could reproduce the stretched out image you posted but the image resolution does seem odd...

the nef-files has been imported with PM then opened and edited in ACR. The difference between nef and jpg is because the file has been upsized/resampled in ACR. Then saved as jpg.
I have not been able to reproduce what the problem is. It shows up in some pictures in different folders and only when the nef and jpgs are combined. If I separete them the nef´s look normal again!

I have seen distorted views like this when using RAW+jpeg from a Canon EOS1D Mk2.  When viewing RAW+jpeg I have PM prefs set to use the jpeg for the Preview not the RAW, for better speed.  If I want to check the RAW in more detail I use the Q keyboard shortcut to switch to have the RAW rendered, and I have somtimes seen this stretched behaviour then.  I'm not certain of the exact circumstances when it happens as to when it doesn't.  My RAW+jpeg pairs are not the same pixel dimensions as each other since I use the small jpeg setting if shooting RAW+jpeg, so I'd assumed it was some sort of cache problem when PM gets confused and distorts one pic to fit the resolution of the other, or vice versa.

I have no idea if it really is a cache problem or not - that's just my uneducated guess!  When I have had this happen I have not been able to work around it, but I have not tried very hard to do so.  I shoot RAW only rarely so it has not been a big problem for my work.  Next time it occurs I shall try to work out exactly what I have done beforehand.
