photos won't delete

I just installed mavericks and reinstalled Photo Mechanic Version 5.0, build 15077 (39d4ee2)
When I am editing photos and hit the delete the photo goes to a gray box, then photo is still there.
I am attaching 3 images of what I am talking about. Can anyone help me on this?

Are you deleting or moving to the Trash?

If you're deleting, do you have permission to write to your files and the parent folder?
If you're moving to the Trash, are you able to move files to the Trash with the Finder?

When I move a file to the trash from the finder I have to put in my password each time. Just tried that.
I clicked on my HD and did command I
I unlocked the permissions and put "read and write" for the "system" "wheel" "everyone"
It is still doing it.
I think you are getting at that it is a permissions problem and I think you are right but not sure how to fix it other than what I did.
-just checked my user account and I have read and write privileges.

Does the Finder still ask you for your password when moving items to the Trash now that you have changed permissions on your hard drive?

I just tried it and it works! Yay! I also went into system preferences and deleted the iMac and just have me on the users.
