PM and Capture One

I am now working with C1 (mac 10.8.5 and PM V5 15451)
Problem when I compress a NEF treated with C1 in format .eip ;
My finder is able to show me thumbnail, PM is not.
May I see hope a change in PM ?

I don't know if we'll ever support it.  The format is described in non-technical terms here: http://help.phaseone.com/en/CO7/Output/File-formats/EIP.aspx

It seems like its use is completely optional.  Why do you need to use it?

The file format is simply a zip archive.  It is my understanding that one would use the format if they wanted to move files (with all of their settings) to another computer.

It would be possible to read/write to a zip archive, but it's not something we're likely to take on anytime soon.

Soizic,
Not knowing any better, I was shooting everything into .EIP straight from the point of tether.  IMO, using .EIP should only be used for transferring a handful of files to another Capture One user/station.

If anything becomes corrupt with CO, it's database, or a bad update, you won't be able to easily unpack large quantities of .EIP files very easily at all (this happened to me once after an update).

It's a great feature for throwing some files you worked on into Dropbox and then working on them elsewhere, but beyond that the risks really outweigh the rewards.

If you rename the .eip part of the file name with .zip, you'll have no trouble unpacking it to its component parts.  It will be tedious though.

 I am trying everything in C1 which is new for me.
I was undecided, now I understand I shall keep my NEF ; my two computers are synchronized, so I don't need EIP.
