File Naming Problem
« on: April 30, 2014, 08:37:38 AM »
Photo Mechanic Version 5.0, build 15451 (86b6bbe)
Mac OS X Version 10.7.5 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5

ACTIONS
Select a mixed group of Nikon NEF/Jpg files in Photo Mechanic window.
Use Command-M to bring up the Rename Photos utility.
Set desired naming string.
Click Rename button.

ERROR
See an error message about Rename failure [shown in Attachment 1].
Note that the selected files' names do not revert to the original filename [shown in Attachment 2].
Also note that the image does not reappear in Photo Mechanic
and also that the file cannot be now renamed by double-clicking on the red 'TMP' filename.

RESOLUTION?
Maybe I just need to upgrade my Mac OS X from 10.7.5 ??
For now, I'm just going to revert to the earlier version of Photo Mechanic by digging it out of Time Machine.

Thanks for any help with this.
Cheers -

Hi Andrea,

Have you already looked at the folder and files in the finder? Can you rename the files there?
