PM 5 Crashes after zooming in on contact sheet image
« on: October 31, 2015, 11:35:29 AM »
This issue I am experiencing now has result about 80-90% of the time when I use PM 5.
OS: OS X El Capitan
Photo Mechanic Version 5.0, build 16765 (2682973)

1. I open a folder of images in contact view
2. I select an image and zoom in to 100% (I use a short cut key, "Z")
3. 80-90% of the time when I do this a crash occurs
4. A report is sent to Apple (according to the resultant dialog box note) and I am offered a "Reopen"
5. If I "reopen" and I repeat my workflow, there is a good chance that the same crash will occur.

Any ideas?
I have in Preferences:  Disk Cache set to 2000   Memory Cache set to 512

When PM starts up again, does it ask you to send a crash report to Camera Bits?
What kind of images are you working with?
Do you use the RAW rendering features in PM when this happens?

Hi Kirk

To answer your questions  dated  Oct. 31/2015

1. No, I am not asked to send a report to "Camera Bits". As stated previously, I get a dialog box saying the crash report will be sent to "Apple" (See attachment)
2. I am viewing Raw files, Nikon (nef) and Fuji (ra)
3. I am using the PM Raw Rendering options (see attachment)

There seems to be a huge memory leak in El Capitan's RAW rendering technology.  The same version of PM run on any earlier Mac OS X version does not exhibit the problem.  We suggest turning off RAW rendering for now.  Hopefully Apple will fix the bugs in their latest OS very soon.

Will turn Raw Rendering off as suggested Kirk, thanks again for replying to my query and offering suggestions.
