PM Erase source disk ..

Hello,

PM does not <erase source disk> if the cardreader is connected via Firewire/Thunderbolt adapter.

PM should only delete the files it Ingests.  It does not format the card.  Did files get Ingested?

What do you mean it is shown as a volume?  Would a screenshot illustrate?  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your JPEG format screenshot.

in the attached JPG you can see the FIREWIRE connected card as an orange volume and the USB connected card as a white volume.

I dont't know if the diffrent icons of the same cards have to do with the Subject.

The look of the icon should make no difference.

I'd check permissions of the files on the card and make sure that you're able to delete the files.  If you can't delete them, then Photo Mechanic won't be able to delete them either.

but

Ingest Task showed this message:

OK, well for some unknown reason, the OS is telling us that the disk is not removable.  PM won't 'format' a non-removable disk.

Oryk,

Strange that the disk is shown as non-removable. I would recommend you always format memory cards in your camera anyway and not ever use your computer for this. This is actually standard recommendation.
