Correct!

There is another intresting thing. On a FB group with photographers more people are talking about the first mentioned issue (ingest error), exact as I described after installing High Sierra last Monday. But there is also a photographer that has the exact same issue only on Windows 10. Could there be a relation?

The code that copies and manages files for macOS is very different from Windows.

Lars,

Please give this build a try: http://www.camerabits.com/download/PhotoMechanic5R18957.dmg

It may solve some (or all) of the problems you've been having on macOS 10.13.  I have installed the final release on an external drive, created an APFS volume, and I can't reproduce the problems you've reported with the above build.

Please let me know how it works for you.

Thanks,

-Kirk

You made someone happy today!

- Ingest error fixed, I'm able to ingest locked files!
- The alias folders are not longer shown :)
- Only one thing left, see screenshot. Text does not always fit in the IPTC field.

Lars, thanks for testing.  I'll see what I can do about the IPTC dialogs to workaround the issues in 10.13.

Does the same text issue happen for you in the IPTC Stationery Pad?

Still working on it.  One thing I've noticed is that the Finder in High Sierra is very unstable.  It has crashed over a dozen times in the last couple of hours of fairly occasional use.

Lars,

Please give this build a try: http://www.camerabits.com/download/PhotoMechanic5R18958.dmg

Scrolling/clipping is much improved (at least on my macOS 10.13) in the IPTC dialogs (the ones you can customize.)

Thanks,

I think you created here a release candidate!

No problems left (that I know). I will do some 'field' testing today. I let you know if there is something left that needs attention.

Cheers,
Lars

Thanks again for testing.  We may hold off for a week or two before an official release, but we'll let customers know about the updated build in the meantime.

Release candidate (still will likely hold off on making it available for everyone) http://www.camerabits.com/download/PhotoMechanic5R18964.dmg

Version 5.0 Build 18964

Mac:
• Pressing the ‘End’ key no longer causes the Contact Sheet display to draw incorrectly when no scrolling can occur.
• Ingesting in-camera locked images to an APFS-formatted volume no longer fails.
• Browsing an APFS-formatted volume with file/folder aliases no longer shows them as proxy items.
• Text clipping that would occur in the vertically scrolling multi-line text fields of the IPTC dialogs has been fixed.
• Sorting of snapshots when user’s home directory is on an APFS-formatted volume is now correct.

Kirk, John & the rest of the Camera Bits team!

Thanks for the great support and the quick solution... There are many software (developer) companies who could learn from you guys!
I tested today the builds you offered here on the forum. They worked perfect, no issues at all...

Thanks again!

Cheers Lars
