Samsung's version of DNG
« on: May 02, 2018, 11:33:26 PM »
As my old Galaxy note died I bought a new Note 8 which has the advantage of shooting in RAW. Samsung offers the RAW files as DNG files but these don't open in PM the way other DNG files do. Basically you cannot see the images or the metadata. Given that PM has no problems with viewing DNG files that have been converted from Canon or Olympus versions of RAW via the Adobe app I am wondering what is wrong.

I have attached an image from my phone.

Any help would be appreciated,

Cheers - Iain

The DNG file you provided has no JPEG preview in it.  PM does not render DNG files but it can use the DNG's preview if it exists.  Check the settings on the camera and see if it has an option to put a preview in the DNGs.

Otherwise, you can run them through the Adobe DNG Converter and have it put in a full-size preview for you.
