Printing PDF contact sheets
« on: September 14, 2018, 02:03:46 AM »
Good morning. I cannot find the way to print small PDF contact sheets from PM. I've been trying all options, no success. I know PM is just using Apple printing routines but PM is the only software that gives me this problem, the same contact sheet by Bridge respond to the PDF printing routines I did create (downscale to 72 dpi and 120dpi).

Any hint where I should look? Thanks

OS 10.12

Attached is the macOS provided Print dialog that appears just after clicking the Print button in PM's Print Settings dialog.  I clicked on the PDF popup, chose Save as PDF... and picked a filename.  A PDF file was produced.

If you're not seeing a similar dialog with a PDF button, I'd like to see what you're seeing, please post a screen shot.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your JPEG format screenshot.

Thanks,

-Kirk

Try turning off "Use printer scaling".

OK, then leave it on. ;)

What size are you able to generate in other applications given similar output?

Interesting.  I have no idea what would both make the PM one larger and look lower quality.  What DPI setting did you use for PM?  Is there a DPI setting for Bridge?

72 on PM and 96 on Bridge (you can choose between 72 and Full, see encl.). What is strange is that I am pretty sure I didn't have this problem with PM some months ago (I've been using exclusively PM for some years now)

The printing code in PM hasn't changed in years either.
