Hello,

it seems the <CLAEAR> button did not operates for all IPTC-fields.

e.g.: <Supp Cat 1> and <Caption> are not erased.

Hold down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and click on the Clear button.  A dialog will appear and you can make sure you set each field to clear.  I'd guess that at some point you turned some of them off.
