Hard wiring from Canon 1DX II to PM

This is obviously no a pure PM question, but I am looking for help on doing a direct connect from my 1DX II to my MBP and PM.  Any help would be appreciated.

First make tethering work without PM.

Use whatever tethering software you have or can get. For all I know, Canon may provide the best tethering software. If not, you may perhaps find useful info at the Tether Tools site https://www.tethertools.com/ Software is on their product list.

Once you have tethering working and you know in which folder your tethering software puts images, point PM to that folder using Files->Live Ingest...   PM watches that folder (the "hot folder") for incoming images. As far as I know, PM doesn't care how or why images arrive in the hot folder, which is why you can use whatever tethering software you please.
