Hello everyone,

We are pleased to announce an update to Photo Mechanic 6 for macOS and Windows.  This new build of Photo Mechanic 6 addresses a number of issues present in the 4851 build.

On macOS, Photo Mechanic 6 requires Mac OS X 10.10 or higher  If you are using a Mac with macOS 10.9.x or older, you will need to upgrade to macOS 10.10 or higher to use Photo Mechanic 6.

On Windows, Photo Mechanic 6, requires a 64-bit edition of Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10.  If you are using Windows Vista, XP, NT, 2000, ME, 98 or 95, you will need to upgrade to Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10 in order to use Photo Mechanic 6.

Version 6.0 Build 5029

Both:

• Added: New Creator’s Identity field which allows a photographer to list their identifying characteristics.
• Added: Cancel button has been added to the Editor chooser dialog.
• Added: Support for multiple PhotoShelter uploads without creating multiple sessions.
• Fixed: Now reads camera-written copyright and artist from Fuji camera photos.
• Fixed: Apply rotation to JPEGs no longer soft-rotates images after update.
• Fixed: Attempting to start a trial on a system that has already had a trial in the past could produce an infinite loop where the trial would never be started and the user would have to force-quit Photo Mechanic.
• Fixed: Filename sort is no longer slower than usual if using color class or star rating filters.
• Fixed: Disable JPEG quality slider when limiting file size.  Having the quality slider enabled confused a number of users so it has been disabled when limiting file size and has no effect.
• Fixed: Thumbnail labels with large amounts of whitespace no longer draw beyond the thumbnail cell width.
• Fixed: Ingest no longer copies XMP files if present when ingesting non-RAW photos only.
• Fixed: Copy to 'Location shown table' no longer copies a full set of empty fields, producing an empty row that would not be noticed by most users.
• Fixed: Ingest Tasks dialog now disables the Stop button when no active ingest task is selected.
• Fixed: Send Photos via Email no longer uses the Save As dialog’s DPI setting. It now uses the DPI settings found in the Files page of the Preferences dialog.
• Fixed: {quality} for Compressed Sony ARW files now shows “Compressed RAW” instead of “Uncompressed RAW”.

macOS:

• Fixed: New Folder Inside this Folder could select the wrong folder for editing.
• Fixed: Edit now available for movie files from within the Preview window.
• Fixed: Find and Replace retains settings when opened after re-launch.
• Fixed: Move to Trash in Navigator should now work on network drives when the folder is not empty.
• Added: When a video completes playback, the pause button becomes a play button.  Pressing the play button in this state causes the movie to begin playback at the start of the video.

Windows:

• Fixed: A GDI handle leak that was responsible for the crashes that many users have been experiencing since Photo Mechanic 6 was released.
• Fixed: Spellcheck now indicates when existing words are misspelled.
• Fixed: Using the Clear Crop keyboard shortcut no longer resets the constrained crop settings.
• Fixed: Loupe view now works for all images on Contact Sheet, regardless of position.
• Fixed: Dragging photos to arrange them now works correctly.
• Fixed: Contact sheet now automatically updates when upload status changes or files are renamed.
