Change in parsing of creation time from IPTC?
« on: March 04, 2021, 08:56:37 AM »
Hi,
In previous versions of PM images exported from our image system time was reported correctly but has with newer versions started to appear as Time: 00:00:00. Date works as it should. We encode the IPTC Time Created (2:60) variable as you can see from the screenshots exiftool reads this correctly.
Is this a change? What field is used instead? Can we change this in settings somewhere?

Many thanks for any help on this issue!
Ludvig

Ludvig,

It's hard to say what is different without seeing a sample file.

PM looks at a number of different bits of metadata for time.  The Exif tag 0x9003 written by the camera is typically considered the true value, but there are other Exif/TIFF tags that can be considered as well as XMP (e.g. Photoshop's DateCreated).

Can you provide a sample file?

Hi Dennis,
Sorry for the late reply. Sure, attached you will find an image straight out of the system.

Kind regards
Ludvig
