Is there a way to stop the drag and drop little preview thing?

Sorry if I have missed something obvious here, but if I select a bunch of photos and then drag them to a folder over on the left, is there a way to cancel that little preview/image window thing that pops up and tends to then obscure the name of the folder I am trying to drop the photos into?

Thanks.  No, there is no way to eliminate it, but I could make it more transparent and smaller.  Would that help?
