Image downsized when exporting from Lightroom

File sizes from Sony A1 are for example showing up initially in PM around twenties to thirties out of camera. Move to LR to edit..then back to PM to send FTP. When they leave LR and come back to PM with or without cropping...images are now around 5-9 mp. Suggestions or explanations why this occurs and the size doesn't continue as original? No sizing is done in PM to LR or vice versa.

What does "Leave LR" mean in this case? Is Lightroom generating new files? Is this happening with RAW files or JPEGs?

exporting or leaving Lightroom. Lightroom I am guessing is generating new tweaked versions of files, but there are no size limits being impressed upon them on export

I assume you are exporting JPG from Lightroom? And your original files were Raw?   That would certainly explain much of the filesize difference.
