Find and Replace sensitive to blank space and or white space

Find and Replace is a great tool for making changes to cutlines and captions but I am finding it does not always work. Is there a way to fix Find and Replace's sensitivity to blank space and or white space before and after an item you want to replace? Thanks

Under what circumstances isn't it working for you?  Can you give me an example?
