Catalog tasks are stuck...

I've been staring at the same number of remaining tasks for 3 days. (Catalog Metadata gathering: 4111220 remaining, Image Preview remaining: 39882).  Both have yellow boxes - I guess that means status is something other than Idle.  I don't know why the processing stopped.  The HD is making noise, and I can open folders in Finder.  Suggestions to get it going again?  (MacOS 12.6.5, PM 6.0.6784)  Thanks!   Edit:  Catalog is on local HD.  Image folders are on external drive.

Have you tried yet to quit Photo Mechanic after the process stalled? It should just pick up from where it left off unless there something that is somehow permanently blocking the progress.

In either case, it may be helpful to see your log file.  Please note that a log file may contain filepaths of files you have accessed in Photo Mechanic and therefore you may not want to share it publicly on this forum. If so, feel free to email it to support@camerabits.com

You can access the PM_log.zip file by going to Photo Mechanic's top Help menu and selecting "Reveal Support Data”.

Select "Yes" in the next dialog to create the zip file and then a Finder window will open with the "PM_log.zip" file selected. Drag that to your desktop (it's easier to find later that way) and then send us the file as an email attachment in your reply to this message.

Sometimes I find that stuck tasks get unstuck if I quit & restart but mostly PM+ just reopens and sticks again just where it was. When that happens I've found that I can kill the task by quitting PM+ and deleting the cat_state.sq3 file in Library/Application Support/Camera Bits, Inc/Photo Mechanic/catalog/state. I have to reintegrate when I restart which is a pain but it's the only thing that I've found to end an otherwise unending task.
