Running a Catalog Sync as a background process?
« on: July 05, 2023, 01:56:55 PM »
We have four different computers for our sales staff, all running PM+ with their own local catalogs. All of the individual local catalogs reference a folder of product photos on a central server.

I'd like to create an automation for the sales team's computers to sync their catalogs at the end of the day so they have the latest images available to them the next day.

Our IT guy says we could probably create a scheduled task if he can get the necessary syntax to run the sync. I have to be honest, I understand what he's asking in concept, but not in practice.

Any ideas around what he can set up for an automated task, or what that syntax is?

All of the computers are PCs running Win 10 or 11.

Unfortunately Photo Mechanic Plus has no options to schedule a Catalog Sync. This does sound like a useful feature for a future version of Photo Mechanic so I will add it to the feature request list. I can't make any promises when or if this feature will be added.

Best regards,
