Openstreetmaps for GPS coordinates
« on: July 25, 2023, 11:49:59 AM »
For reverse geocoding, Camerabits is using Openstreetmap, but for «Show map» and «Set GPS Coordindates» it seems like Google maps is the only choice, at least in Windows version.
For hiking routes and places outside the system of roads, highways and buildings, Openstreetmaps is often better than Google maps, at least in my country (Norway). As a result, every now and then, I have to use Geosetter in stead of Photo Mechanic to geotag my images.
Is there – well hidden – an option to choose between Google maps and Openstreetmap, that I have missed?

Hello Joachim,

There isn't any option to switch which service will be used in Photo Mechanic for the Reverse geocoding, the Set GPS coordinates or the Show Map utilities.

Best regards,
