Could it be that the folder is not downloaded?

Neither Photo Mechanic or Photo Mechanic Plus work with cloud-based resources.  The files have to be available locally (disk) or on a local network drive.

It really depends on what you mean by "can't see them". Does it show you the downloaded files but not the files that are only in the cloud and not local? Does the Navigator not show the folders that are in your iCloud Drive directory?

When I use Photo Mechanic to open a folder stored on iCloud Drive, and the files are not currently downloaded, on my system, the files begin downloading, and once they are downloaded they display. I tried this with a folder of only 5 images, so it may be that this wouldn't work as well with a larger folder. We also don't do anything special in regards to accessing files on iCloud Drive such as using their API, so it seems that the OS has some trigger set where it downloads the files if an application tries to access them. I don't remember this always being the case, so maybe it's a new feature of Sonoma. I'm ran this test on Sonoma 14.4.

Yeah, iCloud is sometimes hidden in navigator, probably system thing
Find it in Finder and drag to favourites in PM, so that its always there

I'm not aware the Navigator ever displaying iCloud Drive. I recommend following Max's suggestion and adding it to your Favorites.

Open a folder in the Finder and go to the iCloud Drive option in the left sidebar. Drag the Photos folder in the iCloud Drive folder into Photo Mechanic's Favorites panel.

Best regards,
