Empty variables
« on: August 29, 2024, 09:08:55 AM »
Hi,

I tried to search for it but cant find it.

In the attached I two variables in the captions (Featured org name and creators job title) and the two 0s in their boxes connects to a code replacement which is empt. As you can in the captions it ends up with extra spaces in the caption between Brazil and competes. Im using it if there is more than one atlethe.

Is there a way, with this setup, where the spaces disappear?

Thanks.

Hi ulrik,

One solution would be to use the Find and Replace utility to look for 2 spaces and then replace them with a single space. Go to the Edit menu and select the Find and Replace utility. Select the Metadata option. Just check the Caption field and work on the selected group. Click in the Find field and clear anything out. Now hit the Spacebar twice. Click in the Replace field, clear anything and then hit the Spacebar once. Click the Replace button to update the selected images. A replace count and image count will be displayed at the end of the process. This can be run multiple times on the same set of images in case there might be strings of 3 spaces. When the replace counts says "The search term(s) were not found or an unrecoverable error occurred.  Nothing was replaced." then all double space strings have been replaced by a single space in the Caption field.

Best regards,
