WAV Missing In Contact Sheet On MacOS

Photo Mechanic Version 6.0, build 7212 (90865b3)
MacOS 15.0 (24A335)
Nikon Z9

On ingest, both image .NEF and .WAV are imported into directory.  When the contact sheet opens following ingest all .NEF files without a WAV file are displayed.  The ones with a .WAV companion file do not display in contact sheet.

I believe I have fixed this issue but wanted to post here just for a sanity check that the MacOS file association was the issue.  When problem of the NEF/WAV occurred, not displaying in the contact sheet, the MacOS file association for .WAV was Apple Music.  When I changed the file association to Quicktime, the problem resolved in Photo Mechanic.

FOLLOW UP:  I just tested another batch of NEF files with WAV audio companion files.  I changed the default app for WAV on my Mac back to Apple Music and with it set this way both the NEF and WAV files ARE SHOWING UP NOW - so whatever I did fixed it but I'm not sure if changing the default open app for WAV files had anything to do with it.

Any additional info. on this issue would be appreciated.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I definitely feel like there are times I can't find the image (out of a burst) that the WAV file is attached to. I usually open the preview window and scroll through because I can always find it there.

I've never been sure if I'm just missing the little icon while in a hurry or if is actually a bug that has the WAV icon not show up in the contact sheet.

Setting the Apple TV app did not make Photo Mechanic fail to display the audio icon for me. I'm not sure why it would, as Photo Mechanic does not pay any attention to what the default application for opening that a given file type is set to, other than if your "Launching" settings are set to "Let Finder open files". If you find any way of repeating this issue, the best thing to do would be to call our support line: 503-547-2888
