Zenfolio PRoblem
« on: October 04, 2024, 05:51:14 PM »
I am using PM Plus v7765 on a MacBookPro running MacOS 14.7.

I recently set up a new Zenfolio account after being absent for a few years. I entered my new Zenfolio user name and password in the PM Zenfolio Uploader dialog.

I cannot get the PM connect to Zenfolio. At the bottom of the PM dialog is the message: "Error: Unable to fetch items from server. Please check your connection settings"

I see some old threads on this forum regarding this problem, but I though it had been fixed.

Suggestions?

We've fixed several things with our Zenfolio uploader in response to changes they've made to their API over the years, so an old thread may indicate that a problem was fixed, but that doesn't mean that some other change on their end won't necessitate a change on ours.

We've set up new Zenfolio trial accounts and encountering the same errors. Our older Zenfolio test account, which has existed for several years, still connects just fine, so there is something about these new accounts that doesn't play nice with how we are using their API. We have gotten in touch with Zenfolio and are awaiting a reply. It may be something they need to fix on their end. In the meantime, since you just set up the account, if you are open to alternatives, I'm not aware of any issues with the other image hosting services we provide uploads for (Photoshelter, Smugmug, etc.)

I just got off the phone with Phil from Zenfolio.

The issue is the same one that I have described here in this thread: https://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=14268.msg72070#msg72070

There is still not an API for this new type of account, I am unsure if it is still possible to create a "Classic" account at this time. Phil told me that they are hoping to get this API out soon, but until they release it, Photo Mechanic is not going to be able to connect to newer accounts.

Once they release it, it will take some development effort on our part to then work with their new API. Since you mentioned that you are using the legacy version of Photo Mechanic Plus, I want to just be transparent in letting you know that any updates we make to be compatible with their new API will require either a subscription to Photo Mechanic (or Photo Mechanic Plus) or a perpetual license purchased after March of 2024 that is still eligible for updates.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll wait for a bit to see what happens.

AS for my version of PM Plus, I thought I was using the latest release for the subscription model (see attached). It does keep reminding me taht ,my 7 day free trial is about to expire .

Sorry, I got my build numbers confused. Yes, that is the latest official release of the subscription version.
