PM 6.0.0.7212 won't open on Windows 11
« on: December 02, 2024, 08:30:23 PM »
I am trying to open PM 6.0.0.7212 on Windows 11 Pro 23H2, and the process starts, then stops after about 65MB of memory, using up 0% of CPU (every few seconds it briefly goes up to 0.1 or 0.2% for half a second before going back to 0%). If I kill the process and try to reopen the app, I get the same thing.

I had this problem a few days ago, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of PM6. It worked that one time, but I closed it and now when I try to reopen it again, I'm getting this problem again.

I only ever use the default settings on the app (I just use it for geotagging my photos), nothing special.

What can I do to be able to open it, without having to reinstall it every time I want to use it?

Edit: Restarting my computer let me reopen PM6, but I don't want to have to interrupt my workflow to restart my computer every time I want to use PM6.

Thanks in advance.

So the first time you start up Photo Mechanic after booting your computer, it launches, but after you quit Photo Mechanic, any subsequent runs won't launch?

We'd like to see your log file. After Photo Mechanic successfully launches, go to Photo Mechanic's Help menu and choose "Reveal Support Data". Choose 'Yes' in the dialog that appears and you will be brought to a file called PM_log.zip. Send us that file so we can take a look. It would probably be best if you email this file to support@camerabits.com so we can help you there.
