Problem with Upload pictures in a catalog
« on: April 05, 2025, 09:12:24 AM »
I created a catalog in Photo Mechanic 6+ called "PMCat_250405_nach_Jahren" (by_years) that accesses my chronologically sorted folder system (YYYY.MM.DD).
In this system, there is a folder named "nach_Jahre" (by_years), which contains the aforementioned catalog.

I have now created a new folder in this "nach_Jahre" system and added it to the catalog using "scan to catalog." If everything works, I find the structure "Folder path/Volumes/A-MAC_APFS_4TB/Katalog" with the correct new entry in the "Browse" tab under "Folder path." However, sometimes it happens that in this "Browse" directory, a second entry is created in parallel in "Folder path/Volumes," namely "A-MAC_APFS_4TB(1)," in which the new entry is listed individually.

I can't find the error and hope someone here can help me! Thank you

Does the A-MAC_APFS_4TB drive sometimes get unmounted and remounts again?  What kind of drive is it and how is it connected to your Mac?

It's a Thunderbolt 3 drive – "LaCie Rugged SSD Pro, external SSD 4TB, 2.5-inch, Thunderbolt 3" – that's connected to the Thunderbolt 3 port of a 27-inch iMac with a suitable Thunderbolt cable.

The drive is occasionally correctly unmounted, unmounted, and used on another computer, before being reconnected to the original device.
