Resume scanning
« on: April 14, 2025, 12:31:22 AM »
Hello,

I've got a large Catalog of around 500k images on a NAS drive. I started the scanning of this last night but this morning I need to take the laptop out with me - the process is not completed - preview generation and metadata scanning is still taking place.

If I stop the scanning process can I just rescan the same directories later on and pickup the process? Presumably images already scanned won't be added to the library again?

If the scanning has completed, you can quit the application and when you launch it again, it will resume the process of preview generation and metadata cataloging.  Though you should make sure that when you do resume, that the disks/files are available and online.
