Appendix: I noticed that the star rating assignment no longer works the same way as it did in Photo Mechanic 6. If I have only one image selected and press for example Control 5, the image gets a 5-star rating. But if I have multiple images selected in the contact sheet and press Control 5, the images do not receive the 5-star rating. In previous PM versions, this always worked.

True, I had to change the Menu shortcuts because the single item Contact Sheet shortcuts conflicted with them.  Review the shortcuts.  Change them to your liking.

The ⌘- shortcut is now working. However, there still seems to be an issue with star rating assignment. When I tried to adjust the star rating shortcuts under “Menus” in the Keyboard Shortcut settings, I got an error message saying the shortcut was already in use. So I changed the star rating shortcuts in both the Contact Sheet and Preview sections, which then allowed me to set my desired shortcuts under Menus. After that, I reset the shortcuts in Contact Sheet and Preview back to their defaults, and now the star rating shortcuts are consistent across all three areas (Menus, Contact Sheet, and Preview). This wasn’t possible before.

Additionally, the ⌘⌫ (delete photos) shortcut doesn’t work either, even though it’s correctly registered in the shortcuts.

For the next few weeks, I’ll be working exclusively with version 6, as it’s more reliable. At the moment, I’m just struggling with various issues (shortcuts, slideshow, Case-Sensitive File Search [fixed in the meantime]), and apparently I’m the only one experiencing them. No one else seems to be reporting similar problems in the forum.

As long as there are no conflicts, you should be good to go.

OK, I'll try and reproduce with a German keyboard layout.

Not surprising to me because most users of the forum are in the USA.

This build should solve all of the keyboard shortcut issues you made me aware of and will likely be released tomorrow.

Please give it a try and let me know if you find any problems.

Thanks,
