It would be great if it were possible to customize the name for color classes displayed in Photo Mechanic separate from the Label Field while maintaining interoperability with labels in other programs.
So each color class would have a display name as well as a label name in the settings.
For example for Color Class: 1 (Winner) with display name "Approved" and label "Red" would:
- display as "1: Approved" in the IPTC Template
- display as "Approved" in the IPTC Info
- Maintain the label of "Red" for use in photo editing software
These display names could be just an interpretation of the label assigned to the photo rather than something written into the metadata.
Just more helpful than having a sticky note to keep straight the meaning of color classes
