Basic Start Up

Starting from scratch; will try to use PM from first of the year with all new weddings.  Moving from ACDSee.  What are your suggestions for best tutorials, readmes, general guidance to learn best useage of PM?  I would like to be able to run several practice ingests, remove "culls," arrange images by categories, etc., and prepare for uploading to website and producing CD/DVD copies of event.  I will also utilize DxO at some stage in workflow, wherever suggested.  Appreciate being pointed to the newcomers place.  Many Thanks,

I think the best book you can get here is "The DAM Book -- Digital Asset Management for Photographers" by Peter Krogh.  It's supposed to be an authority on the subject.

Yes, but it barely mentions Photo Mechanic.

Ah, I interpreted the question as a request to get an introduction to DAM, not PhotoMechanic per se.  For that I already supposed Andy would have already looked for the manual (which is great by the way!).
