"save photos as" question

trying to save .NEF to jpg using "save photos as" from main menu. a dialog pops up says:

none of the selected photos can be saved at high resolution...

what can be done about this?

PM is not a raw-converter!

Brendan and Rob,

PM is not a raw-converter!

In 4.6 you will be able to save as from the embedded preview of the RAW file.

Until then you need to use the "Extract JPEG previews from RAW photos" command on the Tools menu.

It depends on the camera, the camera settings, etc.  Sometimes they are full resolution, sometimes they are half resolution, sometimes they're even lower resolution.

what is the difference between "extract jpg from raw-file" and the upcoming "save as"-command?

The same source image will be used, but you'll get all of the flexibility and power of the Save As dialog.

No.  Photo Mechanic does not save 16-bit TIFFs.
