Launch
« on: June 27, 2008, 03:31:41 AM »
First, I apologize if I am suggesting the obvious for already proposed, but I did not find any recent post...

I would very much like to have the option to have the ability to choose what image editor I wish to use. I have struggled with the preferences and cannot find anyway to have more than one editor.

I would like for PM to use the "edit" default in Windows if I select "Edit" and I would like to be able to choose a second program, like Capture NX2, to launch if I choose "Edit" with. Or the other way round, default is CNX2 and additional is PSCS3.

Because I need to have a choice, I find myself repeatedly changing the preference setting in order to launch the correct editor.

If not that, then a right-click menu where the user can choose "open with" or "send to".

all the best

Sharon,

I would very much like to have the option to have the ability to choose what image editor I wish to use. I have struggled with the preferences and cannot find anyway to have more than one editor.

I would like for PM to use the "edit" default in Windows if I select "Edit" and I would like to be able to choose a second program, like Capture NX2, to launch if I choose "Edit" with. Or the other way round, default is CNX2 and additional is PSCS3.

Because I need to have a choice, I find myself repeatedly changing the preference setting in order to launch the correct editor.

Open up the Preferences dialog.  Click on the 'Launching' tab.  Click on the 'Set...' button.  (It is on the right side of the dialog, preceded by the text 'Assign specific editor for each file type'.)  There you can choose a specific editor for each type supported.  You can even assign up to 10 editors that can be used to send any file you want towards.

If not that, then a right-click menu where the user can choose "open with" or "send to".

Once you have setup some editors, right-clicking on a thumbnail will show several commands and one of them is a submenu titled "Edit photo with".

HTH,

-Kirk

Just color me embarrassed  :-[

I had seen the "customized", but it just didn't connect for me. Now all is working fine and frustration is gone with the wind.

Thanks for your help!!
