rename adds additional 01 without asking
« on: August 03, 2008, 07:46:37 PM »
I'm trying out PM for Mac v.4.5.3.1.

I tried to rename a series of images like this:

{year4}{month0}{day0}_SomeString_{seqn}.NEF

the string rename looked right in the dialog box, but when it actually did the rename it made strings that appended an additional "01" before the ".NEF".

What should be:

20080802_Squam_001.NEF

actually became:

20080802_Squam_00101.NEF

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It sounds like you have your renaming resolution set to always append 01, 02, etc.  Open the Preferences dialog, click on the Files tab.  Look for the popup menu titled "When files exist with the same name:" and change it to one of the other settings.  Yours sounds like it is set to "Always append digits (01, 02, 03)".

Kirk: You were absolutely right. I did use that option. I didn't read the option carefully; I thought I had chosen "add when needed..." option. Thanks, Kirk.
