No.  Web-based email is not supported.

Is there a method to save images for web then transfer to gmail for distribution?

You can use a mail client to send via GMail with POP or IMAP.  I use Gmail with Apple Mail and it works fine.

Does Apple Mail work with Windows XP Pro? Be interesting to understand how to set up a mail client or Apple Mail with Windows. Is there a post on setting up Pop3 to send to Gmail you are aware of? Thank you for your reply.
